Trust and efficiency start with accurate and correct identification.
Verified by GS1 is a global solution for finding trusted and unique information about a product, company or location. The search can be used to find a company or product that is registered in the local GS1 system of the country concerned. A specific GS1 number (e.g. an 8, 12, 13, 14 or 18 digit code printed on the product label or packaging), the 13 digit company location number or the company name, plus the country of registration of the company, must be entered.
The Verified by GS1 search engine can be found here
The information found during the search may be incomplete if it is not provided by the GS1 organisation of the country in question, or it may not be available at all if the country is not yet a member of the Verified by GS1 solution.
You will not find any information in Verified by GS1 for companies that have been removed from the international GS1 user community. You will also not find data if you have entered variable entry or internal, limited distribution item numbers (i.e. codes with prefixes 20 – 29), and numbers with prefixes 977, 978, 979 (i.e. publishing production codes based on ISSN, ISBN, ISMN numbers).
The Verified by GS1 search is also worth using if you have any doubts about the correctness of the barcode or the manufacturer’s name, but the owner of the barcode and the manufacturer of the product may not always be the same, as different brands may be manufactured by different manufacturers.
